Do you have what it takes? seeks to raise awareness among men who have sex with men that really thinking about certain aspects of their sex lives is important.
In an effort to go beyond conventional prevention messages that promote the use of condoms, the campaign aims to guide and support men so that they can better identify the various factors and situations that make them vulnerable to sexual risk-taking. Drinking or taking drugs before or during sex, engaging in anonymous sex due to fears that their sexual orientation will become known, or simply having a taste for risk and intense sexual sensations - these are just some of the issues that the campaign hopes to address in reaching out to gay and bisexual men across Canada.
To “have what it takes” during sex involves much more than just using a condom. That said, it cannot be forgotten that using condoms correctly still remains the most effective means for preventing the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
